I tend to compare things that are a bit broader. It is easier to make connections that way and can also jog your imagination.
I really liked the metaphor "technology is the enemy." I did something similiar to this in my blog. I like this because even though technology is a great advancement in our society, I feel like it has changed a lot about the way our culture is structured. With new technologies, anything is possible. And I feel like that kind of ruins our society as a whole in certain aspects.
