Right off of the bat, your first metaphor was my favorite. It rings so true with me personally. My room is my home and that is where I feel most at home, more so than anywhere else I've ever been. I think we can all relate to that. Our rooms are often where to go to escape everything on a bad day or a stressful afternoon, so it is very comforting to go into a physical and mental safe place.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite simile of yours is the one that reads, "My rooms is organized like the books in a library." I'm pretty OCD and crave organization in everything in my life. My room shows this more than anything else. People always come in and ask if I really live there because it looks so stale and has everything in its place. I've even had some people tell me my room looks like a PB Teen magazine set up. It makes me laugh because it is very true. Your simile perfectly described all of that for me and I think it is really insightful for that reason.
I love your metaphor "My room is a warm cookie" since Wark cookies are warm, delicious, and remind me of home. Warm cookies remind me of peace on a cold winter morning :)
ReplyDeleteAlso your silk hammock simile is pretty cool. Reminds me of a cocoon for some reason. Again, safety and comfort are the key messages of the simile.
