ReplyDeleteTime is stressful, time is an issue or burden all ring true in the same way for me. Everyone always wishes they had more time to do anything, whether its spending time with someone or studying for a test. Most recently time was issue when I studied last minute for my bio test. While I was studying time was stressful because I knew it was limited.
Simile:
The room looked like a pigsty because whether its my room in college or back home unless someone cleans it for me, my room always looks like a pigsty. Which is bad when i'm trying to find things but i'm lazy and probably won't change anytime soon.
I love all your metaphors about time, especially "time is healing." This is very true. I think that through any bad time in someone's life, all it takes is time to heal the wound. Even over small things also. If you fail a test early in the week and are upset about it, by the end of the week you are usually over the hard feelings.
ReplyDeleteI really like all of your metaphors on time as well. I think time is essential to all that is done in like. Literally time is everything, and you used a lot of different ways to portray that. My favorite is how one says "Time is infinite" and the one next to is says "Time is measured" because that's so true. It all depends on your perspective.
ReplyDeleteYou should have added time is money as a metaphor because that is a statement that doesn't get any truer. Time is a limited resource. You only live for so long and you only have so much time. If you calculate how much time you spent sleeping so far in your life you can only imagine the amount of things you could have done in all of that time added up. How ever, you did have a lot of good metaphors in regards to time and I am sure you can use many of the metaphors in your short story.
