Blog 10
My writing style has changed little over the past few years, but it has been reshaped many times, especially over the course of this class. My writing style was always about playing it safe, never venturing to far into the creative aspect of my mind. With this class I decided that preconception was a waste of time. I had been holding back on my writing for too long, writing lackluster papers about topics and stories I had no interest in. One of the ways I was able to try new things was not only receiving, but giving feedback on my fellow students work. Between the blog responses, class speed-date style review, and, course, the class workshops, I have given and received tons of feedback. Reading and responding to my classmate's work helped me realize ideas I wanted to try and checking if certain things that weren't working in my classmate's writing were working for me. Through this class and moving forward, I anticipate to keep trying things outside of my writing and even personal comfort zone, because it was there and then when my writing and myself made the most growth. Looking back on my first blog post, I believe I have overcome the main problem I had with writing: conveying my exact thoughts. Through my constant writing and purposely trying new things, I have gained a new and better understanding of my writing, and of myself. This conveys in my wiring, I believe, as I have recently been able to properly express my exact thoughts through my writing. I am excited to see how my writing will develop looking into the future, and what writing I will be able to produce in the near future.
