Blog #9

Original Ending
I take the leaf with my right hand, and I crush it. I let go of the brittle pieces on the rocky surface, as the shards of our past scatter throughout the reality of the present. I lay down, and I turn off my flashlight, seeing nothing but darkness. I close my eyes. I can only hope for the best of what’s to come. My days might be over, but the spirit of adventure lives on.

Ending 1:
I take the leaf with both of my hands, and I split it into 3 equal pieces. I then give a piece Marvin and Lenden and keep one for myself. We couldn’t have been able to make it here if it weren’t for us working as a team. Sure, we are stranded on the moon, but that doesn’t mean that it’s over for us. We did everything we can to ensure the success of our mission. And even if we are stranded here, I can’t be any happier that it’s with the two people I trust the most.

Ending 2:
I take the leaf with my right hand, and I slowly but carefully tuck it into my right pocket. There’s still a slight shimmer of hope that we can possibly make it back. Maybe that’s what the leaf is for. It’s a message showing us where we belong. Back home. I turn off my flashlight, seeing nothing but darkness. This darkness is temporary though. Despite our struggles, there will always be a new dawn, no matter where we are. We’re alive, and we shall stay alive. We shall return home, regardless of what it takes.

Ending 3:
I take the leaf with my right hand, and I dig a small hole with my left on the rocky surface of the moon. I then carefully place the leaf into the hole, and I proceed to bury it. The moon has always been a part of our planet; now, it’s time to give back to it. Maybe this is what it’s all about. Even if we weren’t successful, we did it nonetheless. We did what no being has done before. The moon provides us with the spirit of adventure, and we are here to return the favor.
